New Era Cap 59Fifty fitted hat for the New York Yankees in multi-camouflage colorway. Amazing, Wonderful, Fashionable, & Universally Loved. This is the second coming of the most AWFUL hat in existence. Our first AWFUL hat focused mostly on dissonant colors, but this time around we’re focusing on just pure vomit-factor. The pinwheel presentation of the camouflage is not unlike vomit itself. This is our ode to joy, our homage to courage. Our New Era rep cried after we made this, we think mostly out of pain and anger, but we detected a hint of joy as well. Using our very own Octo-Camo colorway, this thing is both hideous and top-tier fashion. Six different camouflage colors adorn the crown, while Jaquard Tonal Camouflage is donned on the visor to give it a foundational sense of black color. With the 8th “camo” color being Black Floral on the button, we decided to at least give this piece of crap a sense of totality and added White Floral to its undervisor. The topmost part and bottommost part of this hat are both done in floral patterns, quite poetic innit? The front logo is embroidered in Pink Joy, which seemed to be the most contrasting choice. But then we changed our mind with the side flag, making it tonal in both color and design to the Woodland Camouflage it lays on top of to make it inconspicuous. But then on the rear logo, we changed our mind again and went for high contrast again with Pink Glow and Breath of Spring. Why? Because Breath of Spring is such a fun phrase to say, mostly. Our favorite part of this hat? None, we hate it all. But the more we look at it, the more it feels like an ugly puppy you just can’t help but adore.
